Summer Fun Things To Do In Roseville CA Area

It’s still spring but sometimes it thinks it is winter and the next minute summer. It can’t seem to make up its mind as it prepares to turn FROM spring INTO summer! So when I’m walking granddog in the morning I’m wearing a sweater and by evening, I’m enjoying the cool after the heat of the day. And in between I’m having fun checking out all the spring and summer fun things to do in Roseville CA and our surrounding area. Starting with some interesting good news!

Bakery Updates

In past weeks I have shared about two bakeries coming to our Roseville Area. I have some delicious news for y’all.

Tous Les Jours OPENED in Roseville

French-Asian Bakery Tous Les Jours that I shared about in December 2022 JUST OPENED another of their many delicious bakeries earlier this week! They are located at 9400 Fairway Drive, Suite 120, in Roseville. Looking at Google maps, it appears to be across the street from Les Schwab – which in turn is basically down the street and across from Costco. It’s also in the same center as Goodwill, Taqueria Garibaldi (also yummy) and Huckleberry’s plus it’s across the street from El Pollo Loco which we also love. Very cool! A sweet friend actually had a chance to visit it and she reports that : “Lots of pastries and a few savory pastry items. It is like Paris Baguette where you get a tray and a pair of tongs and help yourself to the pastry of your choice. They will heat up the savory items for you. They have some beautiful cake slices in another case by the register or you can purchase a whole cake.” Sounds delish!
one of the summer fun things to do in Roseville CA is visit Tour Des Jours which is now open in Roseville CA
Sacramento Channel 10 did a nice write up on Tous Les Jours. Among other things, they highlighted the fact that “There are more than 300 pastries, cakes and desserts baked daily” including, “seasonal specialties and limited-time offerings such as the baby shark cakes!” Bet my grandkids would love to see those! You can read the whole article and find the bakery’s menu here.

And in case you are wondering how to pronounce it …    🙂

Checking this bakery out would definitely be one of the fun spring or summer things to do in Roseville CA  this year. 🙂

Carrara’s Pastries Opening Soon

Carrera's is COMING SOON to Roseville CA at the Westfield Galleria

Carrara’s of Roseville is the other delicious sounding shop I shared about more recently. I checked into them as well and, while their website is open for their Roseville store, it states that it is not yet open. It does give the location – 1151 Galleria Blvd, Suite 1165, Roseville, CA  – located in the Westfield Galleria at Roseville’s outdoor promenade.

They have also created a Yelp page and that states that the bakery is scheduled to open on June 30, 2024!  AND click here for a google maps page complete with pix of some of their pastries. YUMMMM!

Exciting Local Developments

  • Some intermittent closures will impact a few of our lovely Roseville trails. Click here for more info.
  • Rocklin’s goats AND sheep (awwww – sheep are so cute too!) are coming back and here’s THEIR tracker map.
  • There is a HINT (JUST a hint at this point) from the Sacramento Business Journal of Amazon Fresh stores coming to our Roseville Rocklin Lincoln Sacramento areas including one that may be coming to the old Toys R Us store located next-ish to Costco on 5 Star. And another one might be coming to Citrus Heights in the Sunrise Village, a retail center being redeveloped at the northwest corner of Madison Avenue and Sunrise Boulevard in Citrus Heights. If you hear anything about either of these, do let me know and I’ll do the same – here or on Facebook. 🙂
  • Sad news for Red Lobster as many are being closed across the country, including in Sacramento. Happy news for Citrus Heights and those of us nearby as the Citrus Heights location will be staying open! I enjoyed eating there a few months ago for a birthday party for a dear friend and they did a GREAT job with a delicious dinner, so well deserved!
  • Carmichael Cactus and Succulent Society is hosting their 46th annual show and sale this weekend, May 18 and 19, at the Carmichael Clubhouse. Admission and parking are free. There will be hundreds of plants and handmade pottery and ceramics as well as info to help you grow them. Hours are 9-4 Saturday and 10-3 Sunday at 5740 Grant Avenue in Carmichael. Right off of Fair Oaks Blvd.  Full details here.
