I’ve got some tips for you that sweet Kim Retzlaff of Chicago Title gave to me. It’s a fun little PDF of the 2015 guide to area holiday lights displays. Here’s a picture of it. To get the PDF, just email me at [email protected]
This list includes the Fab 40s area of Sacramento Christmas Lights. I enjoyed walking those blocks with dear friends a couple of years ago and they are GORGEOUS!
The Sacramento Bee has a long list of homes in the Roseville and Greater Sacramento area that have lovely Christmas lights and other decorations and display. It includes many of the same lights as the easy list above but it goes into detail about what you’ll see at each location. That can be a big help in making the list more specialized to your personal tastes.
One of the locations is a place I’ve heard about since I first moved here in the mid-1990s – Dovewood Circle in Orangevale. An amazing place to visit but do know they often have a long line of cars to enjoy the gorgeous lights on this little neighborhood!
FOLSOM ZOO LIGHTS AND MORE
You’ll notice some special items in the right column of the list above (and on my Google Map you’ll see them with RED STARS instead of the Christmas Trees that mark most of the spots I listed) including the Folsom Zoo Christmas Lights. According to their website they are right in the midst of Wild Nights and Holiday Lights at the Folsom Zoo – it continues to run from now til December 23, 2015 at 5-8 p.m. at the Folsom Zoo Sanctuary, 403 Stafford Street.
They invite us all to “celebrate the magic of the season and help support the amazing animals at the Folsom Zoo Sanctuary! Thousands of colorful lights illuminate the zoo’s buildings, grounds, and animal exhibits, and lighted characters and decorations add charming touches. Santa visits each night to listen to holiday wishes, and Zoo Bear Mascot Santa Paws greets guests and poses for photo ops.” There’s music, merriment, magic, and fun rides on a miniature train – tickets are $4 per person. $5 per person admission and those under 2, as well as parking, are FREE. WOW – doesn’t that sound amazing!
FAIRYTALE TOWN LIGHTS AND FUN
There is also Fairytale Town which is enjoying their Winter Wonderland this weekend, December 17-20 from 1pm – 7pm, weather permitting. So if you are interested, be sure to visit their site, check out their weather policy, and see all the lovely treats they have in store for visitors.
ROSEVILLE CA CHRISTMAS LIGHTS JOYS
Last, but definitely not least – here in Roseville, we have lots of delights as well. Be sure to include a cruise down part of the historic old route Highway 40, more commonly known as Vernon Street. It takes you right through Downtown Roseville CA where the City of Roseville has decorated the parkway trees with white lights and our lovely HUGE tree in Downtown Square Roseville will put a sparkle in your eye as well! Not to mention tootling over to the Fountains at Roseville complete with lighted carriage and the Westfield Galleria at Roseville with lovely lights, not to mention a fun skating rink. Both or either are lovely ways to end your night with extra pizzaz!
