Great News and Interesting Events Roseville CA [February 6, 2023]

Thank you for sharing...

WOOHOO – GREAT NEWS AND EVENTS ROSEVILLE CA WILL ENJOY!

Pickle Ball and More!

Roseville is getting a very cool 11-acre complex including restaurants, hotels and entertainment centers right next to the Westfield Galleria at Roseville. And in addition to all that, the Roseville location will have nine pickle ball courts! (Yes! I DO love pickle ball! ) Talk about fun news and events Roseville CA can enjoy!

The company that brokered this deal is Edwards Co. and its President Steve Edwards said he’d compare the Electric Pickle concept to Topgolf, in the fast-growing “entertainment retail” area.  I have to admit, I will be watching this one extra close as it sounds fascinating.

They are looking to open parts of it in Summer 2024 at which time it will be the “second Electric Pickle location in the U.S.” I am guessing it will be quite popular here in Roseville as well as attracting our neighbors all around us including Lincoln, Rocklin, and Citrus Heights! Great news and events Roseville CA can enjoy AND share! Awesome!

Mattress Disposal Made Easier and Cheaper

This is a bit less exciting (after all, it’s NOT pickle ball related 😊) but still makes me VERY happy and I know many others who will be thrilled to hear this as well!
The Western Placer Waste Management Authority – WPWMA – “is a regional government agency established in 1978 through a joint exercise of powers agreement between Placer County and the cities of Lincoln, Rocklin and Roseville to own, operate and maintain a sanitary landfill and all related improvements. The WPWMA’s facilities consist of the Western Regional Sanitary Landfill and a Materials Recovery Facility which includes composting, Household Hazardous Waste, and recycling and buyback facilities.”
They have now joined a growing list of the Mattress Recycling Council (MRC)’s Bye Bye Mattress program collection site participants. As of this past February 1, 2023, the WPWMA will accept old mattresses and box springs from the public every day, for FREE! Residents may bring their items to the WPWMA, located at 3195 Athens Ave., Lincoln, CA 95648, during the following hours of operation: 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. on weekends. HOORAY! 😄
For cities in Sacramento County, etc. do check the Bye Bye Mattress Program for any free options for your county / area. 😊

More Coming To AND Going From Roseville

Transitional Care Facility

According to the Sacramento Business Journal, “A new transitional care facility for patients recovering from medical procedures is in the works in Roseville…at 1001 Roseville Parkway.” This should be a great help for people who may be recuperating from hip replacement, knee replacement, heart attacks, etc. where the hospitals are overcrowded but the patient can’t yet handle heading home to recuperate. My mom used such a facility in another state a few years ago and it was a huge help! Great news!

Tasty Pot

Tasty Pot, an authentic Taiwanese hotpot chain is coming soon to 1020 Pleasant Grove Boulevard, Suite 170.  I’ve never heard of “hotpot” cooking so I did some research and IamAFoodBlog.com explains, “…Hot pot is a Chinese way of way of cooking food in a simmering pot of soup at the table.

It’s similar to fondue, except instead of cheese or hot oil, you have a flavorful soup stock. Raw ingredients are cooked in the soup, then eaten with dipping sauces. It’s a fun and communal way of eating and super popular both at home and in restaurants.”

The article goes on to explain how to do it at home as well. 😀 Very interesting!

Activewear Store

If you like activewear, you will be happy to hear that Alo Yoga is coming to the Westfield Galleria at Roseville soon.

Blue Oaks 24 Hour Fitness Update

I know one of the events West Roseville CA neighbors are anxiously awaiting is the opening of 24 Hour Fitness, being built near the Nugget Market in the Campus Oaks Town Center. It IS still coming. The latest update is saying to look for it to open in August 2023. But, sadly, for inquiring minds who have been asking if it will have a pool, I have been told that it will NOT have a pool.

T2 Tea

And one more piece of sad news – this is for those who love the tea at T2, which is a tea retailer from Australia that has a store in the Roseville Galleria. They have announced on Facebook that all their stores in the United States are closing, due to various changes over the past few years. On Facebook, they wrote, “Our US stores will therefore be closing on the 19th of February 2023 .” They are currently having a closing sale – both in the store and online (though be cautious online as there were some Facebook comments indicating some issues with those sales.)

Shopping Events Roseville CA Area Abound!

Gypsy Chic Vintage Market

This was started in 2012 and on Yelp, the owners describe their store as “an eclectic indoor vintage and antique fair open for one four-day weekend of the month, typically starting on the Second Thursday. Each monthly event celebrates a new theme and each month the booths are stocked fresh with new treasures for you to discover. With such a wide variety of styles from shabby chic, boho, French, and cottage to romantic, regency, rustic, barn chic and retro, you are sure to find something which suits your style. In addition to all the lovely housewares, furniture and decor, the gypsies also fill their booths with repurposed one-of-a-kind finds, vintage accessories, clothing and beautiful jewelry which spans the ages….We as vintage and and antique lovers are sharing our passion with you while maintaining fair prices, variety and quality.”
WOW! Doesn’t that sound cool!

Sacramento Antique Faire

The Sacramento Antique Faire is on February 12 from 6:30am – 3pm at 1 Sports Parkway (formerly Sleep Train Arena), Sacramento, CA. They request that you please enter through the East Entrance, which is located on Truxel Rd between Del Paso Rd and Arena Blvd. As they explain on their website, “The demolition of Sleep Train Arena is complete. Though the Arena is no longer in existence, we will continue to hold the Faire in the parking lots of what was previously Sleep Train Arena through March of 2023. Please enter through the East Entrance off of Truxel Road.

Vital Info From One of Our Local Sacramento News Stations!

CDC Eye Drops Warning!

KCRA Sacramento reports that “the CDC advises against using EzriCare eye drops as it is investigating at least 55 infections and 1 death! “…The eye drops are made in India, and “we understand that the same product is also marketed under other brand names,” the company says. The manufacturer, Global Pharma Healthcare PVT Limited, is working with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on a recall, EzriCare says. The CDC urges health care providers to immediately stop using EzriCare Artificial Tears…”

This really caught my eye as I use eyedrops daily. But I use Refresh products. I looked them up and am not seeing any recall on them. Also they are made in the USA while the above drops are made in India. So that is encouraging. But, of course, always check with your health professional for any medical questions and concerns.
