COSTCO SHOPPING UPDATES IN OUR GREATER ROSEVILLE AREA

I had hoped to let you know that the Loomis Costco was going to open this September followed by West Roseville Costco in March 2024 with a gas station and car wash (and it’s MUCH bigger than the Roseville off Stanford Ranch Road!)

The GOOD news is, so far the Roseville Costco is still on target for a March opening BUT the Loomis Costco is now looking at Spring 2024 as well.

PLANTY OF FUN THINGS TO DO IN ROSEVILLE CA AREA GARDENS

This could be a great week to start prepping our gardens for Autumn! Our awesome nursery, Green Acres, has a cool calendar with tips, tricks, and ideas! Click here to see the big one and download the pdf of it.

The calendar has great ideas – notice it mentions a video on 9/5 for a succulent pumpkin – they are SO cute – here’s a video they did about it:

AND WOW! HAVE YOU EVER SEEN SUCCULENTS LIKE THESE? AWESOME !!!!

Speaking of Green Acres, I have a question for y’all, preceded by a story…

Do YOU recognize this leaf from Roseville CA

While out showing homes for sale in Sun City Roseville recently to one of my awesome clients, we came across a tree that looked a bit familiar but we couldn’t place it. When I got back to my office I went to look up what is currently available for plant identifier apps. There are a lot – many with great reviews,  some with not-so-great reviews. Many with HIGH prices, a few with somewhat reasonable prices. I settled on Garden Answers app which currently charges $3.99 per year plus if you are desperate, you can pay $1.99 per question to ask a horticulturist.

It gave me some ideas but it didn’t seem like any were correct. Happily for those of us in Roseville, if we can wait a couple of days (business days – Monday-Friday), we have a great option and it is FREE and RIGHT HERE in our Roseville CA area! Green Acres Nursery invites us to send them photos (or even bring in leaves) and they will do their best to identify the plants. So I sent a request in and hope to have an answer soon. But then again, maybe YOU can help me. Do YOU recognize this leaf?  (Each pix shows a different side of the leaf.) And FYI – it doesn’t appear to have any scent when scrunched and no milky liquid if broken. AND, while most of the leaves were green, a few were a lovely red.

The other side of the leaf above:other side of Roseville CA leaf  Interestingly, I spotted this tree from one of my autumn posts a few years ago at KayeSwain.com – I think these leaves are fatter? What do you think?

WRAP UP

It’s time to wrap up this week’s list of fun things to do in Roseville CA Area right before Labor Day. If YOU know of other family-friendly  happenings this week – especially for Labor Day – OR if you recognize the leaves above – do pop over to my Facebook page – @KayeSwainRE or my group or page  – @RosevilleCaliforniaJoys – and let me know. And in the meantime, have a LOVELY and SAFE week. AND does anyone else feel like this —–>>>>  HURRY UP SEPTEMBER – I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE YOU! 😀

Hurry Up Autumn
Can you tell I just can NOT wait for September and AUTUMN – How about you?
