HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY NEWS IN ROSEVILLE CA AND SURROUNDING AREA

Looking for fun ideas for this weekend? Here’s a lovely one – whether as a special treat for your sweet mom or just as delight for your own eyes! Take a trip around our Roseville CA area and enjoy 6 lovely gardens that the Placer County master gardeners are sharing with us for the Mother’s Day Garden Tour! Hosted by the UCCE Master Gardeners of Placer County this Sunday, May 14, 2023 from 10am to 4pm, Rain or Shine. Tickets are $20 each and Kids under 12 are free. Click here to visit their website where you’ll find a description of each of the gardens. The Placer gardens tour includes:
- A water wise garden
- A huge estate garden (which does have some steep stairs and uneven walking surfaces.)
- A butterfly garden
- A tranquility garden
- A mobile garden
- A traveler’s garden – featuring an extensive collection of amazing plants, flowers, water features and eclectic art treasures from their travels around the world.
You can also read a great article about it at Sacramento Digs Gardening and learn about this Placer County garden tour as well as 2 more garden tours that are in Sacramento including an East Sac garden tour. My sweet mom would have loved this. How about you?
MORE CONGRATS TO ROSEVILLE
WOW! Our Roseville Parks, Recreation & Libraries has been named a finalist for the National Gold Medal Award for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management! Roseville is one of ONLY FOUR finalists in their class of 150,001-400,000 (which includes hundreds of agencies across the nation)!
This is a HUGE achievement and WELL deserved as we look at all the exceptional parks and recreation services to our community, including 80 + parks in our area. One of my grandkids and I visited two of them this weekend and had SUCH a fun time! Learn more about this award at roseville.ca.us/parks

FREE MULCH FOR ROSEVILLE RESIDENTS NEXT SATURDAY
It’s time for Roseville Utilities Mulch Mayhem next SATURDAY, MAY 20, 2023 AT 8 AM – 12 PM (or while supplies last). Go to 9000 Foothills Blvd, Roseville, CA 95747-4410, United States
BE SURE TO NOTICE the restrictions on vehicles you can bring. ie.
YOU MUST ARRIVE IN AN OPEN BED TRUCK OR TRAILER – STAFF WILL LOAD – LIMIT 1 YARD PER CUSTOMER – THAT’S ENOUGH TO FILL A PICK UP TRUCK (I’m emphasizing this because, in reading the article, several people mentioned how bummed they were when they came in cars and couldn’t get the mulch. Turns out the equipment they use requires the open bed truck or trailer. Click here for more info.
This is for CITY OF ROSEVILLE RESIDENTS ONLY (and I am guessing you need to bring your driver’s license and, perhaps, a Roseville utility bill with your name and address as proof.) You can call the water efficiency team at (916) 774-5761 for more info.
