What’s the latest local Roseville CA News 5-25-24? There’s a lot, as always, as Roseville is a “Happening Town” in a “Happening Area” and has been for decades – since before we moved here.  This week is no exception! Let’s check it out!

Memorial Day Salute!

We remember and honor with gratitude

This Monday is Memorial Day. “On this Memorial Day weekend, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. To the families of these courageous service members, we extend our deepest gratitude and respect. Your loved ones’ valor and dedication will never be forgotten. We stand with you in remembrance and honor their legacy today and always.”

Navigating Roseville: Roadwork Updates

The first happening to share probably won’t impact a lot of us. But for those it could impact, it could be a BIG DEAL. So if you know anyone this would impact, be sure to share it. What is IT? A closed roads alert for the ongoing Roseville Parkway Extension Project.

I’m looking forward to when this one is done. It should help make travel back and forth between West Roseville and East Roseville a little more straight forward for many. But, as with all construction projects, delays can happen and this is no exception. The Roseville Parkway Extension Project requires that  portions of Industrial Avenue will be temporarily closed between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., during the week of June 3.  Click here to see the map that shows the area that is closed for construction and the areas around the project that will only be accessible by local traffic.

Please choose an alternate route or follow detour signs during these times.  Look for digital message signs to display up-to-date schedule information.

YIKES Local Roseville CA News 5-25-24

Also, note that in order to complete this portion of the project, trucks carrying oversized loads will be traveling on roadways adjacent to the project (Blue Oaks Blvd, Foothills Blvd, Washington Blvd, and Industrial Blvd) during evening hours. Stay alert, allow extra time, and travel with care. The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen conditions.  (I read that this morning and thought – what inclement weather. We are in the  season of pre-summer sunshine. Then I went outside – cloudy, chilly, a hint of a possibility of rain! Hmmmmm 😀 So I guess the inclement weather caution is wise. Hopefully unneeded, though.

Once constructed, the Roseville Parkway extension will complete a key connection through the area, providing better access to the eastern and western parts of Roseville. Additionally, it will optimize traffic flow on other nearby roadways. Gardening Joys in Roseville Sacramento Area

Local Roseville CA News 5-25-24

Did you know that roses aren’t the only things you can deadhead? I did NOT know that. Turns out my poor Azaleas could have had longer lives if I had! I’ll know better next year. 😀 In the meantime, here’s an expert gardener from Green Acres Nursery sharing that info. This is yet another reason I LOVE blogging! I learn so much and I love to share what I learn – with my readers AND with my real estate clients! 😊

DMV Update: Going Digital

The California Department of Motor Vehicles has announced that “beginning June 3, the DMV will no longer process simple transactions in offices that can easily be completed onlline or through other convenient options. They suggest you go to dmv.ca.gov/online to check out their new dmv digital experience. They also recommended you find a kiosk near you by clicking the link below but as I wrote them on their post, that link doesn’t work. And, as several of us also pointed out, there are still many seniors and others with special needs who might be challenged doing this. Hopefully they will have easy to do work-arounds in those situations. If you hear of any, do let me know and I’ll share it here and online. 😊
