Fun and Helpful Roseville Area Info For You
Woohoo! It’s been sunny in Roseville for the past week. (Yes, I know, there’s a chance of a small amount of rain on Sunday – which is great too. Small amounts will add to our “fight the drought” total yet shouldn’t cause more damage – YAY!) While showing lovely homes for sale in Sun City Roseville CA to clients a few days ago, I even snapped some photos of ROSES blooming in JANUARY! And today, Friday, January 27, 2023, is National Have Fun at Work Day.ย One of the things I love about being a REALTOR is that I get to enjoy helping others in a variety of ways, including by blogging about topics that interest my clients, myself, and others,ย So I pretty much ALWAYS have fun at work ๐ But since this is an official National Day – I’m going to REALLY have fun with a cute pix and fun riddles for you to enjoy and me to share with my grandkids as well as helpful information about Roseville area utilities assistance, and more. (P.S. Here’s one of the rose pix – isn’t if lovely.)

Kudos For Citrus Heights AND Roseville
Both cities made it on the 10 Most Affordable Places To Retire in California written by Go Banking Rates.com because of affordability.
The article praised Rosevilleโs variety of activities and affordability that work to make it one of the top livable cities in California, giving retirees a great option. Did you know that 17% of our Roseville residents are 65 and older! And we still have great monthly options for affordable healthcare!
Citrus Heights also has 17% of 65+ residents, great healthcare costs, and has apartments with rents that start even lower than Roseville’s.
And both cities offer or are close to family fun attractions – great for taking the grandkids to!
KUDOS TO BOTH CITIES and all the rest on the list.
Roseville Area Utility News
Brrrr, speaking of snow, it’s been a bit chilly this year – chillier than last year maybe? I’m not sure but I do know we had one extra day of billing this month for PGE. AND PGE raised their rates some. So my heating bill has definitely been higher, as have many of my friends’. I’m wondering if my summer cooling bill might be higher too. And it’s not just my imagination. Here’s a notice I spotted at Pioneer’s page:
If you are also seeing a difference and it’s getting harder to pay all your bills, there are some possible helps for you from our various Roseville Areaย Utilities as well as maybe more great options specifically for boomers and seniors:
- PGE – Placer and Sacramento County and multiple cities – sometimes, like in Roseville CA, they just provide the gas, but in other cities, they also provide the electricity.
2. Roseville Electric (Placer County) – Utilities Assistance – Roseville Utilities shares that “with the expanded income eligibility, more residents are able to qualify for our Electric Rate Assistance Program (ERAP) which provides a 15% discount on electric service each month to those who qualify.
Complete an application today to see if youโre eligible! Application materials and program information can be found at roseville.ca.us/assistance or by calling 916-774-5300.”
Also – this video they just posted explains a couple more options:
3. Rocklin CAย and Lincoln CAย (Placer County) – Pioneer Community Energy
4. Citrus Heights (Sacramento County) – Utilities Assistance – they have all theirs on one page and it includes telephone.
5. State – Water Bill Assistance
6. Boomers and Seniors:
- Seniors First (a GREAT resource for boomers and seniors ) –ย Financial Assistance page with several options listed.
- Benefits Checkupย ย ย
If you know of other options, I’d love to hear and share about it. ๐

Valentine’s Day is coming up QUICK! I’m already on the hunt for places that serve Valentine Shaped Pizzas – and just discovered the world of Valentine DONUTS! (My grandkids are going to be THRILLED!) Last year Krispy Kreme and Dunkin Donuts did those. I’ll be sharing what I find out next week. ๐
Yes, I realize the article above was about Scotland but I found info that they did the same thing in the U.S. – the article above just had purtier donut photos. ๐
YUMMY! And as I mentioned in one of the posts – if YOU hear of any fun foods for Valentine’s Day in our Roseville area – do let me know and I’ll pass it on! ๐
