Roseville CA Summer Almost Over
Zowie! Isn’t it amazing how fast our Roseville CA summer has gone! I cannot believe it’s August and the season of Back to School 2018 is already gearing up!
Welcome Back School 2018
And wow! I remember when we first moved here, it seems like our Roseville CA schools started in September but all around us now, they’re starting the first week in August! And yes, that includes Roseville elementary schools, Roseville middle schools and Roseville high schools! That’s ahead of my grandkids in three other states though not by much! One set is starting back to school the following week and the rest will be back to blackboards and homework by the end of the month so any which way you look at it, it is officially the season of BACK TO SCHOOL joys in Roseville California and beyond!

Back to School Supplies Lists and Stuff
Our local Macaroni Kid has a great post on this topic with even more Back to School lists of supplies that include Roseville City schools, along with Rocklin, Lincoln, and Loomis. She includes handy checklists and adorable FREE 2018 Back to School Printables to use for those sweet photos you KNOW you want to take. These school years go so fast and those photos will be treasured for decades to come!
Roseville National Night Out Activity Ideas
Another thing that’s coming up (and even running into back to school events) THIS TUESDAY is the annual National Night Out. This is a fun night when neighborhoods all across America find different ways to connect with their neighbors. A lot of fun AND one of the best ways to increase the safety of your neighborhoods and cities!
Sometimes, National Night Out is spent with big groups of neighbors. Roseville encourages our neighborhood associations to plan something and many of our neighborhood associations are doing just that including Cherry Glen Theiles Manor neighborhood association, Folsom Road neighborhood association, Pleasant Grove neighborhood association and others. If you are not sure if your neighborhood association is planning anything – or don’t know if you have a neighborhood association – AND YOU LIVE IN ROSEVILLE, you can join our Facebook group for RCONA and ask for help there. 🙂 If you have any questions about National Night Out, you can check in the group as well. 🙂
8/6/18 UPDATE – PLEASE NOTE, DUE TO ALL THE FIRES IN THE SURROUNDING AREA, THERE HAS BEEN A MAJOR AIR QUALITY WARNING ISSUED BY PLACER COUNTY – AS A RESULT, AT LEAST ONE NNO 2018 HAS BEEN CANCELLED. PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION – OR THEIR WEBPAGE/FACEBOOK PAGE TO BE SURE YOURS IS STILL GOING ON.
Small National Night Out Food Ideas
Sometimes National Night Out get-togethers may just be a block deciding to walk outside and say HELLO to neighbors. I remember one year I got together with two other neighbors for this. We brought out a table, set up some water bottles and some cookies and invited all of our neighbors around us to come on over and say hi. We had so much fun and enjoyed visiting with friends we new AND making some new friends.
If there isn’t anything happening in your area this Tuesday evening, or if you prefer to stay closer to home, I highly encourage you to pop into Raley’s or another of our great Roseville stores, buy a box of cookies or brownie bites (my personal fave), sit outside, wave to your neighbors and invite them over to say howdy and enjoy munching and chatting together. AND if the temps are as hot as they’ve been, maybe turn some sprinklers on – I’ve been thoroughly appreciating walking through various neighbors’ sprinklers as I deliver neighborhood newsletters full of interesting updates on these hot summer days!
Summer’s Been Fun But FALL is Almost Back
Back To School days, National Night Out, and HOT SUMMER DAYS AND NIGHTS! A fun summer overall, but I have to admit, I’m looking forward to FALL and cooler temps. And HOORAY – can you believe Dollar Tree has their autumn stuff out already! For an autumn-loving blogger, REALTOR, and grandmother, that sounds GREAT to me! How about you?
