The flowers are bursting out everywhere, there’s more sun than rain (most of the time), and the days are growing longer. It’s SPRING 2017 in Roseville CA and it’s beautiful!
There are SO many fun things to do in Roseville CA this spring 2017, I couldn’t fit it all into the newsletters I prepare for the neighborhoods I volunteer in. So I thought I’d list SOME of the activities I know about along with links to even more.
APRIL THINGS DO ROSEVILLE
Thinking of adding solar to your home? It’s worth getting some info and training about it and Roseville Utilities is glad to offer that for us. They are offering FREE workshops for anyone who is thinking about a roof top solar installation or who is interested in learning ways to manage their installed system. Workshops are scheduled from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Martha Riley Library/Roseville Utility Exploration Center, 1501 Pleasant Grove Blvd., Roseville on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 or Wednesday, May 10, 2017. Friday Flicks features The Secret Life of Pets o – 7:30pm – Vernon Street Town Square.
Earth Day Festival – April 22 at Mahany Park from 10-3 with lots of fun and many free events and activities.
Food Truck Cinema at Woodcreek Golf Course features Pitch Perfect on April 22, 2017.
Most weekends during spring and summer there are yard sales popping up here and there. But once a year, in the Maidu area, there is a GIANT yard sale that has had as many as 100 neighbors participating. And this year, the Maidu Neighborhood Association yard sale is on April 29 from 8am – 1pm. The general area for the Maidu Neighborhood Association is Rocky Ridge, Douglas, and Eureka and I’m sure there will be signs a’plenty to guide us from there. 🙂
Sensory Story Time is a Storytime for children with autism or other sensory processing disorders. Parent participation is required. It is held at Maidu Park and the next one is on April 29 – 10:30–11:30am – this is just one of many tot programs that are fun for our kids and grandkids!
Medication Take Back Day is on April 29, from 10:00am–2:00pm – there are several locations to drop off medications in Placer County. In Roseville, you can go to Sun City at the Lodge on Del Webb, as well as Roseville High School, Granite Bay High School, or Maidu Community Center.
MAY THINGS TO DO IN ROSEVILLE
Fun For Kids & Grandkids
Lots of spring 2017 fun things do Roseville CA area for little kids and grandkids return this month and goes on into summer as well, including:
May the 4TH be with you – meet characters from a galaxy far, far away! Celebrate the Star Wars Universe with the whole family! Take photos with some of your favorite characters and stump your friends in Star Wars trivia. Coming up on Thursday, May 4 from 4 – 6 p.m. at Maidu Regional Park. It’s definitely on my calendar – should be a fun visit!
Squirmin’ on the Square at the Downtown Vernon Square on Thursdays from 5/4–5/25 at 5:30–6:30pm.
Wee One Wednesdays start again on May 5 til October 25 from 10am-10:45am in the Vernon Street Town Square. From bubbles and art to active games, out tiny tot kids and grandkids enjoy a ton of fun. Parent participation required. Free, no registration required.
The Vernon Street Town Square spray ground reopens on weekends the first full weekend in May which, weather permitting, will be May 6 from Noon – 7pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Come Memorial Day, it starts on the daily schedule of Noon-7pm every day (though hours may be modified due to event needs). and opens daily beginning Memorial Day. It continues on the daily schedule until Columbus Day.

I love the 80s Fun Run – Vernon Street Town Square on 5/7 – Provided the event does not sell out, they will accept registration at Packet Pickup.
However, finisher shirts and sizes are not guaranteed for late registrants, so register early!
Food Truck Mania 5:00–8:00pm on May 11 at the Vernon Street Town Square. Food Truck Mania is the second Thursday of each month.
Get Energized on May 13, 2017. This is a free family fun event at the Roseville Utility Exploration Center, 1501 Pleasant Grove Blvd., in Mahany Regional Park on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pick up a solar race car kit for just $10 (or race one of our solar stock cars for free) and race the Solar Speedway, along with other sun fun activities.
Berry Fest 2017 on Mother’s Day, 5/14, at the Placer Fairgrounds in Roseville – fun for the whole family. Yummmm strawberries and more! 🙂
Friday Flicks features Moana at the Vernon Street Town Square on May 19 at 7:30pm.
Mulch Mayhem is on May 20 at the Placer County Fairgrounds 9:00am–12:00 pm. Limit 1 yard of mulch per customer, per vehicle (enough to fill a pickup truck), available for City of Roseville residents only. First-come, first-served until supplies are gone so best get there early.
Food Truck Cinema at Woodcreek Golf Course features Mission Impossible on May 20, 2017.
Winds of Faith Presents: American Salute! on Sunday, 5/28 at 5:30 PM at the Lincoln Hills Community Church in Lincoln. With patriotic songs, sacred music, and show tunes, this concert will feature a wide variety of fun music.
MEMORIAL DAY – 5/29 A day of honoring all those who gave their all!
Vettes for Vets & American Muscle Car Show on 5/29 from 9am-2pm at the California Automobile Museum. 2200 Front Street, Sacramento, 442-6802
Run With Reason sponsored by Wounded Veteran Run on 5/29 Memorial Day there will be a 3K, 5K, 10K, and Kids Fun Run at Vista Del Lago High School – Folsom, CA.
