SPRING IS COMING

Happy Almost Spring and time for St Patrick Day quilts

WOWWWW! There is a LOT going on this week in our Roseville, Rocklin, Lincoln, Granite Bay, Citrus Heights, Sacramento area! Starting with one of my personal fave seasons – SPRING!!!! An important FYI –  it OFFICIALLY starts on March 19. You MAY see March 20 but according to the Farmer’s Almanac which has a long, scientific (and slightly confusing) explanation of how the date is picked, they do declare it to be March 19. And they aren’t the only one! USA Today concurs. NASA does as well, They write, “Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at 11:06 PM EDT, will be the vernal equinox, the astronomical end of winter and start of spring. For a location on the equator in the ocean north of Western New Guinea the Sun will pass directly overhead as it shifts from the Southern Hemisphere to the Northern hemisphere”

Apparently, some folks think it should be the 20th, including one of my relatives who started me on this hunt for the correct date.  I’m thinking it may be  due in part to Leap Year, or so I’ve read. But in my book, NASA and the Farmer’s Almanac are good enough for me. And I am SOOOOO READY for SPRING! How about you?
