Happy Valentines Day
Valentines Day is coming soon.
My senior mom is busy prepping all the Valentines she loves to send her grandkids and great-grandkids. I’m having fun picking out online Valentine greetings. And I thought I’d share some fun recipes, decor ideas, kid and grandkid fun and some interesting and tasty options in Roseville CA and the surrounding Sacramento area and more! Enjoy. And HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY.
Valentines Day Home and Table Decor
Do you enjoy decorating for all sorts of holidays, not just Christmas? Here are some fun ideas, like this simple but pretty in pink table setting.

I thoroughly enjoy the home tours from Between Naps on the Porch and hope you do as well. She has many lovely and unique ideas for Valentines Day home decor. click here for a lovely bedroom tour and delightful ideas for tea in bed, that could easily be changed to breakfast in bed. 🙂 And click here for an adorable tablescape idea that easily morphs from one holiday to the next with a few adjustments. She used a Vintage Copeland Spode that is quite beautiful. Last but definitely not least, this tablescape will put a smile on the faces of kids, grandkids, and even grandparents. A very cute Alice In Wonderland / Queen Of Hearts decor. Her’s is lovely and intricate. But you can also set a simpler table with dramatic colors for a lovely effect, like this:
Simple home decor can be so lovely as it goes great with so many decors. It makes such a great backdrop for a splash of color at the holidays. Here is a home decor that is black and white and it looks great as well with all these lovely holiday ideas.

Valentine Crafts Cooking and Activities Ideas for Kids and Grandkids
Isn’t this a toad-ally cute idea (below) at my G+ page shared by Frugal Fun For Boys. These cute cards with frogs and toads and cute sayings that play on the word TOAD-ally really made me smile and I know they’ll put grins on my grandkids faces as well!

You can enjoy a fun Valentine Party outside like this sweet pup if the weather cooperates, with bubbles, cookies, cupcakes and more. Or if the weather didn’t listen to the groundhog and it’s a bit chilly (windy, rainy, snowy….), have a fun time inside with a picnic on the floor complete with big blanket. Bubbles work well there too. 😉
I love “cheesy funny” riddles and jokes for grandkid Valentines Day cards and Valentine room decor. They’re also great when visiting our grandkids or talking on the phone with long distance kids and grandkids. My granddaughter and I were cracking up over them yesterday. I have to confess. I LOVE Pillsbury cut and bake sugar cookies! Whether it’s a Christmas or Valentine cookie, they are my usual fave for decorating ideas and fun with my grandkids. I discovered Pillsbury has created a ton of adorable ideas for decorated Valentine cookies! Great for busy parents and grandparents, that’s for sure.
Here’s a variety of Valentines Day Dessert recipes from simple to a bit more challenging.
Do you like donuts better than cake or vice versa? With this fun and unique Valentine Day gift or dessert, you can have your cake and eat the donut too. Or give it as a sweet gift. (YES, all puns and wordplays fully intended. 😉 )
A Pizza My Heart
For a more casual and very fun option, I know that Round Table on Foothills is planning on making Valentine Pizzas. It’s possible other pizza places might as well – couldn’t hurt to ask.
If you’d rather make your own, Pillsbury comes to my rescue again with their easy version and directions 🙂
And you can follow any of these fun Valentine pizzas with some tasty Valentine Pizza cookies – because, of course, you have a pizza my heart. 🙂

BounceU in Roseville CA has a special Valentines Day party earlier in the week going on from 6pm – 8pm on FEBRUARY 10 where the kiddos can enjoy making a Valentine craft and having fun with plenty of bouncing! Click here for full details.
Enjoy fun for the whole family at the Sacramento Zoo for Valentines Day. They are located at Land Park Drive & 16th Ave, Sacramento, CA 95822 and the phone number is 916-808-5888. The event is called I Heart Sacramento Zoo and it’s on Sunday, February 14, 2016 from 9 am to 4 pm. Per their website, “Bring your valentine to a special I Heart Sacramento Zoo day organized by the Sacramento Zoo Teen volunteers. The event features valentine-themed animal enrichments, informative talks and activity tables – all included with general admission. Sacramento Zoo Teens will also provide interactive games and activities.” And may I say, what a great opportunity they offer teenagers with their Zoo Teens program. “Zoo Teens are 13 to 19-year-old volunteers interested in animals, the earth, and the community who spend their weekends at the Sacramento Zoo. Zoo Teens develop their own ideals, views, and passions to encourage Zoo patrons become better stewards of the Earth. I Heart Sacramento Zoo will give the teen volunteers experience communicating with the public and offer visitors an opportunity to learn more about the Zoo’s unique animals.” Here is a video of a pinata made by the Zoo Teens for the giraffes. 🙂
